About Tayra

Tayra Barsallo graduated in Law and Political Science from the University of Panama (J.D. equivalent) and, in 2001, received an LL.M. in International Legal Studies with an emphasis in International Business Law from the American University, Washington College of Law in Washington D.C.

Lic. Barsallo’s experience includes working with the National Assembly of Panama, the law firm of Rubio, Alvarez, Solis & Abrego, and in 1999 she became Associate Partner of Orlando A. Barsallo & Associates. Lic. Barsallo is also the Co-owner and Director of the real estate firm Grupo Barleo.

Lic. Barsallo has extensive experience with government matters, having spent several years as Panama’s Deputy Director of the Immigration National Service.  Additionally, she has been an advisor to government entities in issues relating to the drafting of legislation of Immigration, Civil Protection, Transportation, as well as Security and Defense Laws.

In XXXX she returned to private practice with the successful founding of her own firm, Tayra Barsallo & Associates.  The firm specializes in forming and structuring businesses by creating the best legal structure for each client.  This involves helping clients in obtaining licenses required by Panamanian Laws, preparing joint venture agreements among domestic and foreign business entities and governments, representing sellers and buyers, giving counsel and preparing all documentation necessary to create the best legal structure.

Lic. Barsallo collaborates with a network of experienced professionals to provide services in specialized practice areas which include: administrative law, civil and commercial litigation, commercial banking and finance services, governmental affairs, intellectual property, labor and employment, real estate development and financing, litigation and arbitration, government investigation, legislative consulting, and public bid process.

The firm represents various clients in diverse industries which include: real estate developers, insurance companies, foreign and individual private investors, call centers, foundations and nonprofit entities, and banks.

Tayra Barsallo is a member of the Women Lawyers of Panama Association, is called upon to speak at national and international conferences, and has published “The Legal Regime of Tourism Company”.  Her clients appreciate her ability to manage a broad range of legal needs.
